Breaking down barriers: Why more women in the corporate world means less politics and more progress.
Patricia Love

Ah, the corporate world…

Full of suits, ties, and those weird little water coolers that nobody actually uses. It’s a place where hard work and dedication are supposed to be rewarded with success and promotions. But let’s be real — it’s oftentimes more like a game of Survivor, where the most cunning and cutthroat player wins.

But what if I told you

there was a way to level the playing field? A way to make the working world a fairer place? And the solution is simple: More women at the corporate table.

Now, before you start

rolling your eyes and thinking…”here we go again with the whole ‘women in the workplace’ thing”, hear me out. Because the truth is, when women are involved in decision-making, things just work better. And here’s why:

First of all, women are natural collaborators.

We’re not afraid to ask for help, bounce ideas off each other, and work together towards a common goal. This means that when there are more women in the room, there’s less “me vs. you” and more “us vs. the problem”. And when you’re not constantly fighting against each other, you can actually get stuff done.

Secondly, women tend to be better communicators.

We’re not afraid to speak up when we have something to say, and we’re good at finding ways to express ourselves clearly and effectively. This means that when there are more women at the table, there’s less confusion, less miscommunication, and less drama.

And let’s not forget about emotional intelligence.

Women are typically more in tune with their emotions and better at reading and understanding the emotions of others. This means that when there are more women in the room, there’s less misunderstanding and fewer hurt feelings. We’re able to empathize with our colleagues, build stronger relationships, and create a more supportive and inclusive workplace.

Now, I know what you might be thinking —

“But wait, isn’t politics just a part of the corporate world?” And yes, to some extent, it is. But here’s the thing — when you have more women at the table, those politics start to fade away. Because when women are involved in decision-making, there’s less concern about power and more concern about progress. We care about finding solutions that work for everyone, not just the people in charge. We’re not interested in playing games or taking sides — we just want to get things done.

And let’s be real

the business world could use a little bit of that right now. We’re living in a time where transparency, accountability, and authenticity are more important than ever. Consumers and employees alike are demanding that companies be more socially responsible and ethical in their practices. And who better to lead the charge than women?

But here’s the thing —

we need more than just a few select women in high-ranking positions. We need a real cultural shift. We need to create an environment where women are encouraged to speak up, share their ideas, and take on leadership roles. We need to break down the barriers that have been holding us back and create a workplace where everyone has an equal shot at success.

So to all the women

out there who are working hard and fighting for a seat at the table — keep going. And to all the men out there who want to see a fairer and more inclusive workplace — join us.

Together,

let’s create a world where politics and power plays are a thing of the past, and collaboration and communication are the keys to success. #morewomenatthetable
