Don’t Apologize For Speaking Up
Patricia Love

Are you tired of being the good little girl? Being told, to speak only when spoken too. Or, people saying “you don’t know what your talking about” Well it’s time you stop apologizing every time you speak. Like, “Sorry, can I interrupt?” or here’s a good one. “When someone bumps into you, you say “I’m Sorry” and they just keep walking…I mean, you say, “I’m sorry”, and they bumped into you?

Ladies, it’s time to stop apologizing! As women, our voice is important. You are smart, and you have something to say. So don’t apologize for using your voice. You deserve to be heard! What you say matters!

Women have been under scrutiny for too long, when it comes to speaking up for ourselves. It is used against us, because society tries to dictate to us, that we should stay in our place. Stay in our place? You mean, stay home have babies, take care of the house, bring home the bacon? oh that, well that my friend, came out of the dark ages. It is 2020 and it’s your turn to stand up and take charge of your life!

In fact women have been the back bone of this world from the beginning of time. It’s well documented that wife’s of presidents and heads of countries have  been the decision makers in many cases. We stood by our men, we made decisions behind the scenes, we invented life changing products and services for the world  and men would take the credit. Now, I am not bashing men, because this was just the way it was. But we are not in the dark ages anymore, and it’s time to change.

As women, physically we are different, but mentally we are as intelligent, (some might say even smarter) charismatic and persistent when need be. We are all humans and we are all equal, we just all have different strengths and skills.

It’s time we start standing up and be heard, This is not the time to be complacent.  We can’t let the fear of centuries of suffrage’s stop us from moving into the future. It is important that women are validated for what they have brought and bring  to this world every day. It starts with one, then two, then three, and the ripple affect begins.

Don’t apologize for speaking up, and let the world know that you matter.  Your voice, gifts and passions are just as important as anyone else. Women bring  something special to the world ….we understand unity, leaving our ego at the door, and caring for others less fortunate. We do this for the greater good! We  bring a different perspective.  We need to create a better world for the children that come behind us, and stop fighting, just to be fighting. Let’s not only fight for our rights as women human beings, but for the children that have to take on, where we leave off.

Stop apologizing for who you are, You are gifted, wise, intelligent, caring and want the world to be a better place for those that follow. So by standing up, and not apologizing for what you have to say, you will begin to open up additional dialog around women’s equality in all areas.

Everyone needs to be part of the effort to raise awareness,  educate and inspire others around the world. The more we can educate our young men and women on equality, the more women’s voice’s will be heard. But everything does start with each and everyone of you. Don’t sit back, people want to hear what you have to say and think, I want to hear it!

You were put on this earth for a purpose, and you have a voice and gifts to share with this world.

Don’t apologize, stand up,  and be heard, like you deserve!! I believe in you.
